Planet Ford 635 Participates in Gilbreth-Reed Career Mock Interview Day

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford 635’s Sheena Sharapata attends Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford 635 was honored to attend mock interview day at the Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center (GRCTC) for business, marketing and finance students.

The GRCTC is a career and technical center that serves juniors and seniors from all seven high schools within Garland ISD.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses teach skills that translate into professions. Because students in CTE courses receive real-world experience and hands-on training in some of the most high-demand fields, graduates often work their way through college or enter the workforce straight out of high school. Students can also earn industry certifications and college credit while in high school.

Local businesses in the community met with Amy Bauer, Marketing Instructor/DECA Advisor, Dallas College – Dual Credit Adjunct Professor at GRCTC, to interview students to better prepare them before they go out into the work world. Daphne Stanley Garland ISD Place 4 School Board Trustee was also in attendance.

The center offers more than 90 advanced-level CTE courses for juniors and seniors including over 60 new courses.

  • New programs of study in dentistry and firefighting
  • A real-world stock market ticker for on-the-job training
  • The state’s first cybersecurity courses
  • Never before offered courses in veterinary medicine, architecture, business, fashion design and marketing, logistics, pharmacology, robotics and more

Outdoor Power Class

Students start the year learning basic hand tools, then move onto motorcycles, ATV and side by side repairs. The class will take them from basic maintenance to complete restorations.
