The list of awards that Ford has received for the 2015 model year continues to grow, as Vincentric has bestowed the title of Best Fleet Value in America upon the Blue Oval for 2015. The Transit line of vans has led the charge with top honors in five categories for full-size vans: ½-ton cargo vans, ½-ton passenger vans, ¾-ton cargo vans, 1-ton cargo vans, and 1-ton passenger vans. The Ford Transit Connect XLT short-wheelbase midsize van was also awarded the top spot in the Mini Passenger Commercial Van category.
The Transit line of vans offers a remarkable range of customization options to fit whatever needs a business owner may have. Three roof heights and three wheelbase length selections result in a range of cargo-area volume from 246.7 cubic feet to 487.3 cubic feet, while the passenger variant has arrangements that allow for 8, 10, 12, or 15 passengers to sit comfortably in the caFbin. Ford also offers “upfit options” that provide nearly limitless customization options for cargo management.
Not only is the Transit line incredibly versatile, but it also boasts immensely improved fuel economy over the E-Series family of full-size vans that Transit has replaced. The available 3.5L EcoBoost V6 outshines the E-Series 6.8L V10 in estimated highway mileage by 46 percent, while the standard 3.7L V6 improves on the highway mileage of the E-Series’ standard 4.6L V8 by 19 percent.
Transit offers cutting-edge fleet management options as well. The available Ford Telematics™ system can track your fleet vehicles via a GPS-enabled module and provides real-time maintenance alerts, vehicle metrics and diagnostics, locating and monitoring services, and data reporting. Other available features include factory-integrated switches for operating your upfit accessories, multiple window configurations, and more.
The Ford Transit line of full-size vans offers small-business owners and fleet volume purchasers alike fully customizable, versatile, and efficient transportation solutions. To win the Vincentric Best Fleet Value award, vehicles are judged by costs in key areas: depreciation, fuel, insurance, financing, repairs, fees and taxes, maintenance, and opportunity costs. Winning vehicles have the lowest lifecycle costs across 20 different time and mileage scenarios, e.g. 60 months of ownership and 30,000 annual miles. Other fleet value categories that went to Ford were Large Sedan, Large Crossover, and Large SUV. These were taken by the Taurus SE 2.0L EcoBoost for its sixth consecutive win, the Explorer XLT 2.0L EcoBoost for its third consecutive win, and the Expedition XL 2WD for its second consecutive win.
