In the Focus RS, Every Day is a Track Day

The Ford Focus RS is one of the most anticipated models in the U.S. auto market today, and like most of you, we here at Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford can’t wait much longer. After years of clamoring from Ford fanatics and performance enthusiasts alike, Ford’s Performance division has announced that the Focus RS will finally be coming to America in 2016!

2016 Focus RSThe 2016 Focus RS is a rally-inspired hatchback that uses Ford Performance’s All-Wheel Drive system and Dynamic Torque Vectoring to deliver unmatched agility, handling, and cornering capability. According to Ford’s announcement, its 2.3L EcoBoost engine will deliver over 315 horsepower and shares its design with the four-cylinder 2015 Mustang. Its beefed-up cooling system – the largest ever used in a Focus – allows for optimal redline performance while the twin-scroll turbocharger and direct fuel injection provide boosted power output without sacrificing too much efficiency. The result is a wonderful balance of power and fuel economy that is unmatched in the performance hatch segment.

The Focus RS has a bold character that reflects its capabilities. The unique RS grille, front splitter, and rear diffuser enhance the Focus’ aerodynamics and cooling of key components while giving it an aggressive, track-ready look. The striking interior features Recaro bucket seats, MyFord Touch that will run on Ford’s upcoming SYNC 3 platform, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a performance-oriented instrument panel. The Focus RS also features selectable drive modes that customize the handling characteristics to fit any driver’s Focus RS Interiorpreferences, including an all-new drift mode that is the first of its kind in the automotive industry. Innovative launch control technology allows for maximum acceleration from a dead stop by regulating torque delivery and traction control for each wheel. There is even a shift light that alerts the driver when the optimal shift point – about 5,900 RPM – has been reached, so that maximum performance can be squeezed out of each gear.

As far as production hatchbacks go, the Ford Focus RS will be without equal on the streets of Dallas for the foreseeable future. Alongside the Focus ST and the rest of the very exciting Ford Performance lineup, which will be expanding very quickly in the coming years, the Focus RS is a prime example of the Blue Oval’s ingenuity and drive to break every barrier set before them. We can’t wait to roll out the Focus RS onto the showroom floor here at Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford, and we know that speed demons across North Texas are even more excited than we are.
