‘Tis the season to be helping at Randall Reed’s Prestige Ford. This week, Katie Koberg, community relations, from Prestige Ford had a wonderful time volunteering with the Garland Fire Fighters Association (GFFA) during the organizations annual Christmas Shopping Spree.
As part of the event, nearly 100 children were given $125 to be able to go shopping. Firefighters and other volunteers work in tandem to help the children find the perfect gifts. While the money is provided for the children to buy items for themselves, volunteers say the children are often asked if they can buy things for to help others.
For 27 years, the Garland Firefighter’s Association has raised money for this seasonal event. Prestige Ford (serving Garland, Dallas, Rockwall, Mesquite, Richardson, and Plano) was proud to help support helping make all of the children’s’ dreams come true.
This year, the GFFA event had a very special guest of honor. Five-year-old Arwyn Sager, who was rescued and resuscitated from a house fire on November 19 was well and able to attend the event with her little sister. She had a blast visiting the firefights, Santa and shopping for toys, clothes and more. Having Arwyn join the the group made the day all the more special.

This is one of many wonderful charitable events Prestige Ford has had the pleasure of helping the GFFA with. Currently, the Garland Fire Department is seeking new, unwrapped toys. If you would like to make a donation for children in need, you can drop off the gift at any local fire station in Garland.
